Located within the city of Christchurch, Swarm Studios exists to train and inspire people to be the best version of themselves, predominantly through dance and music. Our focus is hip hop dance, with a focus on strengthening techniques that support this style.

OUR VALUES

Here at Swarm Studios we respect others. We carry a high admiration for the studio and everyone involved. This is shown through encouraging and celebrating other dancers, listening to our tutors, keeping our space clean and tidy and returning to our trainings having practiced what we’ve done in class.
Time is important to us because we can achieve more and grow faster when we focus our time effectively. We endeavour to be on time to every training and communicate if we are going to be late. We use our time at the studio wisely by staying focused and practicing even when we are not asked. We also use our time at home to create good habits and make ourselves the best that we can.
Honour is the quality of knowing and doing what is morally right. We value honour at Swarm Studios because we want to be the best version of ourselves. This means we don’t gossip, we always uplift and encourage others and we are kind to ourselves and our growth within our craft.
We work hard at Swarm Studios. We value this because it takes hard work to be great at anything and we therefore encourage this in every area of our life. While in classes and crew trainings we are committed to working as hard a we can to ensure we are using our time wisely and respecting our tutors. Dreams and goals take a lot of determination, discipline and hard work, and that is why it is one of our values. We want our dreams to become reality.

OUR CLASSES

This class creates an encouraging and fun environment for the kids to learn the basics and foundations of hip-hop, and also give them an opportunity to freestyle and create their own moves. This will see your kids gaining confidence while building their dance and hip-hop skills.
The aim for this class is to build their technique, focusing on posture, character and groove in order to give them good hip-hop foundations, and see them grow as dancers.
This class is for beginners but will also push those who have some dance experience. Tweens learn new choreography each week and meet new friends, while building their foundational hiphop skills.
This class focuses on the foundations of hiphop movement. It is a great way to upskill quickly by understanding different aspects of your body and how they can be used in hiphop. This is super important for dancers to establish basic movements and grooves that will help them to execute choreography well.
This class focuses on the foundations of hip-hop movement at an intermediate level. It is a great way to upskill quickly as you gain further understanding of the different aspects of your body, and how they can be used within hiphop choreography! So important for all dancers wanting to improve their basic skills.

This class focuses on building up the foundations of hip-hop, with focus on advanced movement qualities. Styles, textures, musicality, and groove are just some of the things we challenge and work on, aiming to take your dancing to an advanced level!
This class is suitable for teens who are beginner hip-hop dancers or those who have had a bit of dance experience. This class focuses on building confidence and skill in dance, while learning new choreography.
GIVE IT GO!!!!! We love teaching beginners at Swarm Studios, it's a fantastic place to start with a super fun, encouraging environment. ABC (Adult Beginners Class) is for anyone over 18 years old. It’s never too late to learn something new! Plus it’s a great work out & great way to meet other beginner dancers.
We offer a variety of open classes that are catered towards more intermediate to advanced dancers. In these classes we teach more choreography and focus on execution of movement. Structured for those who want to challenge themselves and grow as dancers.
Throughout the year, we offer various advanced training, performance, and crew opportunities to train and grow together. These are via audition only, so keep an eye out on our social media for info on when these auditions are happening!
